Grae was elected to the board of Equity in 2015. Grae Burton has a B.P.S.A - Directing and Writing for Theatre and Film Dip. Perf. Arts - Physical/Experimental Theatre. Grae is an active member, participant and "Actorvator" in Equity and has worked as a professional in all aspects of theatre and as a film actor for over 15 years.
This includes- Tui Ad Campaign Lead (2012 Rugby Season), Underbelly NZ: Land of the Long Green Cloud (2011), and Shortland Street (2011). Grae was the Artistic Director and an actor at Nelson's Independent Theatre and Arts Centre and The Indie Theatre Company (2006-2009); Artistic Director of Summer Shakespeare Nelson (2004 - 2009); Freelance Director and Producer of Musical and Dramatic Theatre (including Grease, Copacabana, Seussical, Charlottes Webb, Joyful and Triumphiant, Lashings of Whipped Cream, The Woman in Black, End of the Golden Weather, Blowing It); and a Street theatre performer (including abstact performance, invisible theatre, juggling and mask character improvisation).
Grae has also been a Puppet creator and performer and Lead performer in over 40 theatre productions (including Cabaret, Noises Off, Amadeus, Homer's The Odyssey National Tour, numerous Shakespeare productions and musicals) Guest performer on Hercules and Young Hercules.
In 2013, Grae's photographs of Tempo Dance Festival dancers went on exhibition at Q Theatre and the James Wallace Arts Trust.
